When Clients report issues such as signs of possible bearing failure in a critical large process fan, Salvtech can investigate, give advice and plan and execute a repair. To aid this process we use the Phantom system from CBM partners. We attach remote sensors to the bearings, connected via Bluetooth to a 4G/5G unit sending data to the Cloud. Using this data remotely, we can assess in real time, on a continuous basis, if a serious failure is taking place which would need a costly shutdown in the near future.
If an immediate response is not required, the Phantom system can be remotely reconfigured such that instantaneous alarms are triggered if different types of vibration thresholds are exceeded. We are also able to trend failure modes and keep the customer updated. In emergencies, alarms also alert selected engineers, via email and phone notifications. The aim is to manage any failures until a planned intervention can be made by, for example, altering operating conditions, oils changes, bearing cooling etc.
We can then also perform the maintenance work meaning a complete turn key job from investigation to repair.
