With the help of our partners over at IBS PPG, and under an Innovate UK Grant, Salvtech has designed and built a separator that enables you to recover waste plastic film from organics and contaminated material.
The idea behind this was to build a machine that doesn’t use water to separate this material, as this is extremely costly. Instead, this machine uses a dry air process that helps to reduce cost and waste water. In doing so, the recovered waste plastic film becomes a more economically viable product to be used in recycling processes, and also saving this material from being needlessly landfilled.
The trials of this machine have been very successful, helping to separate waste plastic from paper industry pulping system rejects.
