Repair work is at times inevitable, as pumps will eventually wear out, fail or an external factor can cause damage to a pump. With extensive knowledge and access to spare parts, Salvtech can repair your pump either on site or at our workshop in North Wales. Our experience in complete pump refurbishment has led to the development of bespoke tools which are utilised in our repair work.
A recent job saw us having to provide both short and long term repair work to a number of damaged pumps for a customer in Buckinghamshire.
These pumps had been severely damaged during their start-up, having been spun the wrong way. The pumps required an immediate temporary fix in order to get the customer’s process up and running again and reduce the down time costs. Our engineers at Salvtech fabricated, machined, and assembled a repair for these pumps within days of the damage, allowing the customer to restart their process as quickly as possible.
We then organised an exchange system where the pumps were fully refurbished with pattern L&M parts to a like-new condition, being taken to our workshop two at a time in order to keep the process running. Our bespoke solution prevented the process from being completely stopped, but also provided a long-term fix to the problem, which was achieved at a lower cost and lead time than parts and service from the OEM.
